How does Meridian calculate what my LevelPay payments will be?
We look at how much power you’ve used and estimate how much we think you’ll use across the course of a year. We then divide it by 12 months (or 26 fortnights/52 weeks) to work out how much your regular payments should be. The longer you’ve been with Meridian, the more accurate it will be but don’t worry, we’ll regularly check in with you to let you know.
How do I know whether I’m paying too much or not enough?
We regularly check your payments against how much you use and will get in touch if it needs to change.
What if I decide LevelPay isn’t for me?
That’s absolutely fine. Just get in touch and we’ll put you back to our standard monthly billing. When you come off LevelPay, you’ll need to pay your bill in full and by the due date, including any arrears from LevelPay. And if there’s a credit on your account, this will go towards your future power bills.
What if my payments don’t cover the amount of power I’m using?
You might find that your payments don’t cover how much you use in winter, but in the summer they’ll cover more than what you use. We’d expect that, because over the course of a year your payments will level out. You’re still paying for the amount of power you use (it’s not an ‘all you can eat’ plan!) - your payments are just evened out across the year. We’ll regularly review your payments to make sure they match your use and be in touch if they need to change.
What happens if my circumstances change, and I’m using way more or less power?
Life happens – you might move house, have more (or less) people living with you, or get a puppy that needs a lot of washing! Whatever it is, if you think your power usage is going to go up or down by quite a bit, just give us a call and we can discuss whether your payments need to change.
When are payments due?
When you sign up to LevelPay, you can choose to pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly – whenever works for you. If you’d like to change that frequency later down the track, just give us a call and we’ll get it sorted.
How do I pay?
Once you’re on LevelPay, there’s no change to the way you pay your bills. In other words, the way you’ve been paying previously, will be the way you continue to pay. If you fancy a change, get in touch and we’ll sort you out.
If I decide to leave Meridian, what happens to my bills?
We’d be sad to see you go, so please get in touch to see how we can help. If you’re leaving Meridian, you’ll need to pay your bill in full by the due date, including any arrears from LevelPay. If there’s a credit on your account, this can be refunded.
